PDF, (Portable Document Format) PDF are widely used to convert office application (word, excel, etc...) The PDF format was invented by Adobe. Adobe Acrobat Reader can be downloaded for free of course but not for the Adobe Acrobat itself.That's why there are many website found all over the Internet that offers at least similar function of the Adobe Acrobat which at least convert office application to PDF files and is free to download. There are also some free online services like primo pdf that converts just about any file type to a PDF online and other Free Online Services which does not only converts file but acts as PDF editor which will be discussed in the following issue.
But for now I want to share some pdf converter which is free to download and you might probably want to try it out.
PDF 24 Creator http://en.pdf24.org - PDF24 installs a virtual printer driver that enables you to convert printable documents or images to PDF format. The PDF24 installs an own printer named pdf24. Once you print a document on pdf24, a PDF file will be created automatically and save or show your PDF document.
Furthermore you can also combine multiple documents into one and delete selected pages from existing PDF files. Visiting their website, they have also offer free online services to convert your documents which is really something good to check it out
doPDF - http://www.dopdf.com simple yet i considered one good software that also installs virtual printer driver. doPDF is definitely meant for fast PDF creation with less of a hassle. It installs as a printer driver and create the PDF files by selecting the "print" command from any application. With its simple features it takes little space to install in your computer.
CutePDF - http://www.cutepdf.com offers same functionality as the rest above and takes a little space in your computer making it one good software to download. There is a paid version of this program which ranks among the best pdf converter along with Adobe Acrobat. I haven't tried though this software but my colleague, Joyce uses this software and probably coming from her its probably worth to try.
